Sewell Park is known for its welcoming environment for hosting outdoor activities and events organized by various groups on campus.

 

The park features several amenities open to the public:

• 2 sand volleyball courts

• Outdoor basketball court

• Grills and picnic tables

• Bikini Hill for sunbathing

 

Texas State organizations take advantage of the park, as it is open and available for large groups to take part in outdoor activity.

 

Greek Week is a great example of an annual event that is held every year at Sewell Park.  Every spring, the Greek community at Texas State comes together to promote unity by competing against each other in a series of events.

 

The Outdoor Center offers events of different sizes for an affordable price:

• Groups of 20 to 200 people: $45.

• Groups of 200 to 1000 people: $70.

• Groups of 1000 or more people: $140.

 

Reservations can only be made by Texas State University organizations.

The Assistant Director of Campus Recreation must approve all reservations.

Reservation fees are non-refundable; however, if a reservation is canceled 10 days or more prior to the event, customers will receive a credit voucher to reserve a future event.
